Low Vision Assessment
Many people struggle with everyday tasks such as reading, seeing bus numbers and watching the television. For people who do not receive sufficient correction from spectacles we can provide magnifiers and other aids to help out. These are much more powerful than those usually found in shops.
Anyone having problems with day to day tasks due to their vision can book a low vision assessment. You need to have had a recent sight test with us (during the last 12 months). A sight test can be carried out at the same time if required.
Low Vision Aids
NHS magnifiers and aids can be supplied on an indefinite loan basis at no cost. The NHS range includes illuminated reading magnifiers, pocket magnifiers, pocket telescopes (for reading signs or bus numbers), free standing magnifiers and visors/goggles to protect against dazzle from the sun. There is also range of specialist magnifiers available for purchase.
Other aids we stock include easy thread needles, natural light lamps, signature guides, bank note identifiers, and stick-on bumps (to identify controls e.g. on ovens or microwaves).
Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to book an assessment.
